Utah Jazz and Australian guard Dante Exum has been diagnosed with a serious knee injury while with the Australian Boomers this week. Exum, who was about to enter his second season in the NBA after being drafted with the 5th overall selection in 2014, has announced that he has in fact torn the ACL in his left knee which will likely see him miss the entire 2015/2016 NBA season.
The injury is a huge set back for Exum and the Jazz who have not yet seen the young Australian fulfil his potential. The Jazz backcourt is covered by Trey Burke & Alec Burks with not much experience behind them with the vacancy left by Exum’s knee injury. Exum was projected by many to take more of the starting point guard duties for the Jazz who figure to float around the end of the playoff race in the competitive Western Conference.
Exum will have a long rehabilitation process both physically and mentally and we wish him all the best for a speedy recovery.
